Many folks aren't even aware that there is more than one book about the Land of Oz! Last year was my first Oz-Stravaganza! I had no idea there was more than one book. Before last year's event, I thought I was going to attend a festival honoring the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I thought that there was going to be a bunch of stuff about the movie, The Wizard of Oz. I was right - but there was SO MUCH MORE! The biggest thrill was to find out that there is a large collection of books all written by L. Frank Baum, which were set in the fairyland called Oz. Chittenango, being the birthplace of Baum, really is where it all began.
I hope you come to Chittenango, in Upstate New York, this June 4th, 5th, and 6th, for our Wizard of Oz festival we call Oz-Stravaganza! From hot air balloon rides to enjoying the presence of Munchkins from the original movie, you will be filled with a joy only found in the Fairyland of Oz! There will be rides for the kids and artisans selling their crafts. There will be contests and displays. You will, without a doubt, have passed Land of Oz 101 by the end of the weekend. Learning about the fantastic is like cotton candy for your imagination!
